Which can is the most rarest, while being great?

I have not heard of those, but I suspect the rarity stems from the exorbitant cost.
But is there something like the baseball card of Honus Wagner (pardon my spelling) where the cost initially was not that high.

Joe Grado plastic housing models with the HP1000 drivers. Theres something rare that'll set you back more than the original price.

Maybe I need to rephrase the question... mainly to satisfy my curiosity.
Are there headphones that can not be bought directly from the manufacturer because the model is no longer in production?
But the headphone sounds really great.

I guess people don't really keep headphones like an appreciating investment.

The headphones mentioned before fit into this category

Since it seems he is not talking purely rarity here and is more looking for a good sounding out of production headphone that isn't extremely expensive:

AKG K340
AKG K240 Sextett
Beyerdynamic DT48
Grado SR100 [with HP1000 drivers]
Sennheiser HD580 Jubilee

Those last three are also relatively rare.

Probably the ATH-L3000G, of which only 50 units were produced...

what about the Sony R10? Not in production anymore and certainly qualify as rare. And although I have never seen or heard one from what I gather they are a very good sounding phone too.

Ruahrc

Edit: oops didn't see page 2 before I posted. Someone else beat me to the R10
