Which are more comfortable HD-280's or DT-770's?

In terms of comfort, the Beyers are tops. I've owned a lot of headphones and they are the most comfortable cans by a good bit. Sennheiser doesn't skimp on a good feel , but go with a pair of Beyers if you want comfort and sound.

for me, beyerdynamics are the first 2 days comfortable, after that the pads settle in and they clamp way too much
hurting your cheekbones and ears
had to return my dt880, now going for q701 or hd600

Wow you must have ridiculously large ears. The 770/880/990 ear pads are very large and don't touch my ears whatsoever so there's no chance of making my ears hurt. The clamping force on the Pro models is tighter than on the Premium models but IME still very far from ever causing any kind of pain because of clamping pressure. But if for some reason they do, just carefully stretch out the headband to reduce the clamping pressure or leave them stretched over a stack of books overnight.
