Yes. And you will write a review about the combo!

Seems we have a recommendation for the Apogee Duet, too. Has anyone here tried the Duet/GS1000 combination?

Well, I bought the RS-1 instead, and once I hit about 500 hours on the Woo 6 (maxed WA6 with huge V-caps and BlackGates that need 1000 hours burn-in) it started to come awake, and the bass and soundstage filled in, and it sounds great with RS-1 now. I upgraded the rectifier tube to a Amperex Bugle Boy GZ34 made in Holland, and it got even better!

I have tried the Apogee mini-DAC/RS-1 combination, and the headphone out is pretty darn good with RS-1 as well - not ad good as the WA6 but certainly much better with RS-1 than the headphone out of my Macbook or Marantz CD5001.

Any experience with the Cayin iDAC? DAC and tube amp i one. Is the SQ comparable to the Apogees or to the Woo 6?

For the GS1000 what is the best inexpensive amp.

Please define "inexpensive"..
To me, GS-1000 will be the only major headphone around (next one may be PS-1000).
Since I'll stick with Grado, an used $200 RA1 is a "inexpensive" choice compare to many $300 up models outside Grado which may or may not suit for Grado phones..

As for RA1 clone, I compare RA1 clone and RA1 before, the sound signature is just gone.....
