Also keep in mind source is very important, if you are paying 1000 dollars for headphones and you run them out of that little FM radio you bought years ago they wont sound good. Likewise if you run them out of a Meridian G08 or similar and are using ipod headphones you aren't getting good sound either. Since these are the K1000 after all, you do need a speaker amp of some sort to even drive them. Likewise, as the speaker amp improves the sound may improve. Cables have lots of skepticism compared to other parts of the chain but based on how many people hear differences there is more likely than not some difference between the quality of Ipod Cable, Canare Starquad, Stranded Silver Plated Copper and your Audiophile recable of choice. So simply stated spend a lot of time on the source, and amp and look at recabling options though it isn't completely necessary.

Thanks, they are not only very useful but also very funny

Has the K1000 line completely discontinued or is there an upgraded version(newer model) one.

I just don't understand why there's demand in the market but no supply. It's not limited edition phone, is it?

They stopped production a few years ago. Too expensive to make and worn out tooling apparently. No newer version and approximately 12-13,000 sets were made. Not exactely limited, but still a smallish number. Replaced by the 701 as their top phone.

Edit: Mind that he bought them for just $350 a week ago. Not that there are anything wrong with making a profit on buying/selling...
