for the grados, theres a few places downtown, one is hi-fi centre.

however, grados are very, VERY overpriced here in canada ($130 for SR60s, whereas its $69 MSRP USD in the US), your best bet is to buy a pair off the buy and sell forum here.

i got a pair of SR80s from here for $100CAD in practically mint condition from a guy from white rock.

if you find a seller from the US, i suggest you get them to ship it to point roberts or blaine (if you're not familar with the procedure, PM me...) for quicker shipping and save on brokerage fees from shipping companies.

Try the following as well:

http://www.a4audio.com
This is a Canadian company selling Grado at US prices. Also, if you were to buy it from Vancouver, you only pay one tax, i.e. 7% only

http://www.minidisc-canada.com
This is pretty good place to get Sennheiser headphones. Comparable prices to the US.

However, right now, as the Canadian currency is so high, you might be better off getting headphones from say, Headroom (http://www.headphone.com). They can sell all headphones EXCEPT Grado.

Also, don't forget, Headphones coming into Canada is DUTY FREE. I.e. if you were to ship using USPS, you only have to pay for 14% tax plus a CAD$5 cross border admin fee.

Hope this helps!

For AKG headphones, try your local Tom Lee.

Can't get price, because it's not for online sale. And my contact who works there doesn't work there anymore. Poop.

I would suggest :
http://www.audioshop.on.ca/grado.htm

That's the only website I know in Canada that sells them. There are probably others.

The price is probably the same as buying locally but you might save some cash by buying from another province even with the shipping charges. That's because you will only have to pay one tax.

It would still be cheaper to find a used pair. Look in specialized music stores. They sometimes sell used gear as a service for their clients.

If you're buying anything from the USA always try to have it shipped USPS, the brokerage fee is $5 vs. up to $50 from ANY courier company. GST & PST should always apply, however, sometimes when you receive a package via USPS/Canada Post it slips through without you having to pay the GST & PST (have them package it as small as possible..smaller packages seem to slip through!)

Duty is generally always zero........
