The W2002 was realeased for their 45th year anniversary in 2002; therefore, we can expect another limited headphone b/w the end of 2006 or 2007 for their 50th year celebration. I hope they will release something that is better sounding than the L3000.

W2002 was their 40th year annivesary headphone in 2002. 2007 will be their 45th year anniversary. I'm not sure if they release "anniversary cans" on the increments of 10 years or not. If so, we'll have to wait until 2012 for the next anniversary headphone. Not to say of course that they won't release a woodie before then.

Thanks for the correction!!! I owned the W2002 and thought that they are 45th anniversary....I'm just eager to buy their next limited woodies..

MSRP was JPY100,000, or a around USD900. I'm sure street price was much less.

List price was 100,000 yen. I think the conversion rate was in the ballpark of 120 yen/dollar? They probably sold for under $800 in Japan, however they sold out very quickly so I doubt the price ever dropped much.
