Hi,
I recently read about the upgrades for the Grado line and saw a pic of the new SR-60. How do we know that we order the new ones or not? and when will they available? As I understood it for the higher end models there will only be a new cable, right? I'm thinking of getting the GS-1000, but if I'm getting it I of course want the newest version. Love Grado, but communication and information could be better from them..
Thanks!

They're already out.

hmm... afaik there's no update to the GS-1000.

But don't forget that "newer" does'nt automatically mean "better". Lots of people, for instance, prefer the vintage RS-1's...

Pangaea made a short review on the original thread. He said it had increased soundstage.

That's not what I've heard. I first read about the updates here HIFI4ALL.DK | Nyheder | Grado med Headphone-serie "i"
It's in danish and they are saying that the membranes on all headphones except the igrado will be reconfigured. The models SR-125 up to GS-1000 will get a new slightly heavier and better cable.
This may be incorrect information, especially in the case of SR-325i and GS-1000 as both are very new considering they're Grados..

wow. They also say that the sort of wood used will be changed, and several of the models will get new pads, all this will be differentiated from the current lineup by the suffix "i", as in 325i. I have my doubts about the correctness of that information. A GS1000i just don't seem probable.

I'm talking to Mr B, who's going to buy a Grado all the way from Sweden, and pay some silly amout for it too. Grado just isn't worth the money in europe, ( in my opinion of course). Unless.... (and that's what I want to know)
