When do you think DAPs will adopt USB-C standards?

I'm currently in the market for my first DAP and I'm finding that most - if not all - use a micro USB port. (Also if I'm using the term DAP wrong, I am talking about little all-in-one portable music players.)

Having gone through the myriad of devices with micro USB connectors and having them have all kinds of connection issues down the road like drooping tab, bent pins, poor cable locks and more, it begs the question: when will we see USB-C connections on our audiophile portables? They're more rugged, do not suffer from the hyper-positional USB conundrum and - most importantly - all of my newer devices use that connection!

Side topic: any audiophile-first phones on the way? I'd buy a phone made by A&K or Pioneer (not like the latter would ever happen) that doesn't compromise on audio quality while offering GSM or CDMA service. But it's fun to dream, right?
