Penny Lane for sure. Is it wrong to pick a Paul song as the Beatles best?

of course not. i do, however, admit my bias when creating the poll -- i am more of a John Lennon fan.

1. revolver
2. rubber soul
3. a hard day's night

A write-in: The Night Before from the album HELP! and motion picture of the same name.

But also many, many other favorites from The Beatles' "early" catalog.

About 15-20 percent of the early Lennon/McCartney original compositions have a totally unique kind of iambic pentameter that's virtually impossible to describe.

"Across the Universe". Paul and John wrote great stuff, but the few George kicked in were absolute beauties.

Kinda difficult to choose a favourite Beatles song, isn't it? And there are so many relatively unknown gems... like "Yes It Is" (right, this one was already mentioned), "This Boy", "Run For Your Life", "Savoy Truffle", just to name a few.

By the way (mental link from "Savoy Truffle"), George's posthumous album "Brainwashed" has just been released today.

JMT:

We're So Sorry, Uncle Albert... that's "Uncle Albert / Admiral Halsey", a McCartney song from his second solo album "Ram".

That's a tough question because they have so many perfect songs. In some moment I was obsessed by Michelle but right now my favorite is Eleanor Rigby.

I just opened my Brainwashed box and there is no guitar pick inside

Will anyone having bought the US released "Brainwashed" box be so kind as to tell me whether there really is a guitar pick inside?

It might be possible that the guitar pick is put only in the US releases - as opposed to European releases???

Thanks!
