What's with the major shortage of Denons?

well, i bit on the deal at amazon
blutronic is selling d1001k for $85ish and the d2000 for $220ish
i got the d1001, 97% seems reliable enough for me
also, there's a d2000 listed as "refurbished" on amazon going for $180. i e-mailed the seller, he said it ISN'T refurbished, merely a returned item that they are reselling. He further guarantees that "THEY ARE AUTHORIZED DENON DEALERS" it seemed too risky for me, but maybe someone else here will take the risk?
i'll report back with my d1001 impressions in a few day

Good luck with your new phones. That D2000 dealer sends red flags up for me. I'd stay away.

well.....maybe i've been gypped. I got the d1001 last monday, they said it shipped out on tuesday. We live within 30 miles of each other, and yet, it's still not here. They haven't responded to any of my emails either nor did they give me a tracking number. *sigh* If it's not here by tomorrow, then it definetely will be a problem.

If Denon is really going to eliminate all these vendors from selling their products, more power to them. In this economy, people (including me) will more on to another brand. Good luck with that.

if you have to pay 300, rather add another 100 for a d5000~

I own a D7000, everything is perfect, my only issue is the sound leaks... people can still hear my music when the room is quiet...
