After reading the highway speed poll, this had me interested. How fast have you traveled in a car, whether it be on the road or a track? To keep the discussion civil, you don't have to say where

The fastest I've been in a car is 166mph. After a certain point it became strangely quiet! I've experienced about two sprints up to 140-155mph since then, but nothing over 160.

Fastest I've ever been with someone else driving? Probably about 120mph or there abouts.

GPS SOG reported 153mph though.

The car was incredibly quiet and placid - much more so than during jump from 110 to 130.

182km/h (gps) in my car with me driving, in Germany. That's all it will do.

151mph when I hitched a lift up the M11 from London with a nutter in a BMW M series... the bends in the motor way felt like sharp turns. Terrifying.

140 in a car. 168 indicated on my bike. Strangely enough, I'de go 168 on a bike before I would go 140 in a car anyday. I have this horrible feeling that the car will get a draft under it and flip it over...so I feel much safer at higher speeds on the bike....

But what's REALLY fun, is going 120 around a long sweeper. That'll put hair on your chest...
