I just got a BA recepter radio and WOW!!!! Amazing, simply amazing. The level of details I can pick up is comparable to that of my Sennheiser hd280's (That's a lot to say for a mono speaker 1kg box). I was looking for ipod docks as well and decided this would be the best price/SQ option out there. I wasn't mistaken at all!

after some reading online, i decided to test out the bose companion 3 and 5 ,apple hifi as well as the JBL 2.1 speakers(the one that looks like jellyfishhead).

tested them all and all sound good. i felt bose sounded better but not worth the 25% more $ than e apple. so decided on e apple and went to a shop that i know would sell them cheaper.

while testing apple, saw e harman kardon go+play next to it. tested it as well(really was intendind to just try cos i already decided on the apple).

WOW! the sound is so much better than the apple! much clearer and tighter bass...this was the only one that i go now thats what i like!

needless to say i bought it. if you are looking for a docking speakers. look at these as well....its portable too.

i am very happy w it. the sound is great. except that at loudest vol ( which is very loud!), the bass can get very heavy. playing on EQ bass reducer sounds better at extreme high vol.

no vol indicator but i tried counting no of increments before full vol. i am usually at below 10. max is 20 clicks before full vol.
go check it out. its 10% cheaper than the apple.just to share

I would not be surprised if the drivers in that HK dock are originally of JBL, probably those Creature speakers you auditioned. JBL is a Harman Group company, and they do occasionally share products from one line to another. Then again, they are slightly larger drivers. I don't know. Pardon my musings.

For what it's worth, I have a little iPod dock that is absolutely wonderful. It's the sonic impact. it actually contains its own T amp, and the speakers are far better than most computer speakers. there's a newer model with a screen -- don't get that one. the one you want is right here

Compact, built in rechargeable battery, solid as a rock and remarkable sound quality. This was the first T-Amp I ever heard, and it blew me away. You can find them at target -- go give it a listen and hear for yourself.
