What's in your messenger bag (or whatever)?
Nov 4, 2008 at 10:56 PM Post #31 of 53
I'm in the minority here I suppose- I like to carry as little as possible. Around campus, I've found that my iPhone replaces my computer just fine so I leave my laptop in my room.

THe only things you'll probably find on me at a given time aside from my school ID and keys is my iPhone and Shure SE-210s.

I'm always the one in the group who gets asked .... why are you carrying your backpack. It goes everywhere, out to dinner, the mall, class, work, anybody's house, I took it when I went voting this morning. It never leaves me.

Wow, that must be like 10Kg of stuff! My messenger bag (ahem) carries a binder for notes, mini stapler, and an umbrella. That's it!

I don't like carrying stuff though. A DSLR and two lenses? I can't even fathom it! But then my poor D50 languishes in the closet rather than getting regular use. Hmmmmm.

For my school-bag (I am currently a trainee teacher), I have...

Ring binder, with all of my magical teacher pieces of paper.
Pencilcase, including magical 4-colour clicky teacher-pen.
Pack of Reward stickers, more for my own enjoyment than for the kids.
Pack of Googly eyes, see above.
Ring-bound jotter,
iPod - for in-car listening on the journey. I don't tend to bother with headphones at school
Mints - A bag of humbugs is a wonderful thing to have around.

Incidentally, my school bag is also pretty science-teacher-esque.

I use a small messenger bag from MEC. It's sitting right next to me, as I'm supposed to by working.... oops!

Asus eeePC 701/ac adaptor
Zune8 + Ep630/HD25-1
Keys + Swissflash knife w/ kingmax 2gb stick
Belgian Chocolate coffee bar (well, about half of it now)
Nintendo DS Lite
Crappy-ass Samsung phone
Various .7mm drawing pencils and pens
Invincible Iron Man #5 and Punisher War Journal #24
Wallet
Kindergarten day plans/assignment sheets

Sometimes my Canon A710IS gets tossed in there as well, and my drawing pad usually comes along with me. I also cycle in and out books from John Ringo, David Weber and other light sci-fi. Thats generally it, aside from my psp occasionally.

Keys
Bottle Opener
Four Pilot G-2 pens (2 black, 1 red, 1 blue)
Glasses Case
8Gig Flash stick

I roll with a notebook, a few pens (nothing special), and an umbrella. On a good day I'd throw my cell in there too.

Yah, that's right, I travel light.
