A couple I always have on hand...

Rī whiskey. Weird spelling I know but it really is delicious.
Hussongs tequila
Knob creek
Bookers
Tito's handmade vodka ( I'm not big on vodka but my girlfriend picked it up and it's pretty good)

I said cabinet, not closet, you alcoholic! :wink:

What's that fancy-pants rounded bottle at the bottom? I've seen it before at celebrations, but can't recall if I've ever gotten an answer-- a side-effect of those things we keep in our cabinets.

My name is Glenn, and I'm an alcoholic! NOT!

The rounded bottle is called Chambord. It's a very nice raspberry flavored liquor.

I keep a few extra bottles of the regulars, plus a few in the dining room.  Since I don't like the bar scene anymore, I have to make up for it by having my own. I'm not one to drink alone, so if you're ever in the neighborhood, stop by :)

I find if i just play darts in the corner of the room, im pretty much left alone in most bars.
people can be total morons though, and with this present legal system, a bar fight just isnt worth it.
Youre probably doing a good thing just having a mellow time at home with friends.

We should have a Longisland Head-Fi BBQ this summer sometime.

the only sweet mixers I'll allow into the home are Triple Sec, and some good NY cassis (try it with whisky and ginger ale on ice).

also recommended: Noilly Prat (so you can make a good martini - whether you'll use Hendricks gin or the vodka of your choice),
and of course Campari (mix with fresh squeeze OJ any time of the day...)

instead of single malts, I now go for Austrian, Italian, and South African spirits (think variations on grappa)

I know we've had several discussions about liquors (whiskeys mostly) but it doesn't seem we've had any necessarily about what you have stored away for those special occasions! Feel free to add pictures as I'm sure some of you will have some gorgeous cabinets or rare bottles.

In mine:

Jameson's Gold Reserve (closed) [Irish] {newer bottle design}
Jameson's Gold Reserve (open) [Irish] {newer bottle design}
Bushmills 1608 400th Anniversary (open) [Irish]
Chivas Regal 18 Year (closed) [Scotch]

The "nothing too fancy here" or "just waiting to be drunk" collection:

Gibson's Sterling [Rye]
Laphroaig Quarter Cask [Scotch]
Famous Grouse [Scotch]
Absolut [Vodka]

To come:

Cutty Sark 25 Year [Scotch]
J.P. Wiser's Red Letter [Rye]

What's in your cabinets, Head-Fi?

The Laphroaig Quarter Cask is in mine too. Love it. It's my favorite single malt.

there are too many things to list in the home-bar here, new and old - but I'm inspired now (by a recent visit to some excellent bars) to buy more ingredients for really good mixed drinks. like agave nectar, angostura bitter, calvados, ginger beer, grenadine, kirsch, lillet, orange bitters, curacao, etc
