i found a lady's wallet on the bus once. i called her and it took like a month of calling back and forth to get it back to her. i left all the money and everything of course. she offered no reward and seemed annoyed with me that she had to cancel her credit cards, etc (???).
later i found a lady's purse on the bus. i found her wallet and id, and also cancer medication. this time i gave it to the driver to return it, and told her about the meds and all. hopefully the poor soul got it back quickly.
Dishonesty runs rampant in todays world, which is why something that shouldn't be surprising, returning ALL of the money and wallet, is surprising. I guess it usually depends on the situation a person is in. I would like to think that I would be honest and return it all, but I've never had the opportunity, but I would take the money if offered, nothing wrong with that...
