what was your first nice pair of headphones?

Sony MDR-V6s, must've been somewhere around 17 years ago.

first headphone upgrade.... Denon AH-D550 (bought right before heading off to the dorms, 1st year college, :p)

Denons broke.

next pair, after this forum corrupted my mind.... Sony MDR-V6.

Next order, Ety ER4P + KSC-35s.

Next order of business, sell V6s..... after the 35s and the 4Ss, i couldn't listen to the V6s anymore.

When I was an undergrad in (ulp!) 1976, I got a nice pair of AKGs. They had the six orange diaphragms around each driver-I can't remember the model number.

THese lasted until the mid-80's when I got a brand new pair of Senn 580. THese are still going strong in my office setup.

The first pair of headphones that I could listen to without wanting to them off after 30 minutes was the Senn. HD580.

Koss Porta Pro Jr.

I still keep them for nostalgia. *sniff sniff..... cries* HAHA! The pads got kinda brownish/orange

but I replaced them eventhough I don't wear them anymore. Can't stand to see them suffer after all we've been through

AKG 401s... left me wanting soooo much more!
Then the WOH tour came to Philly and my wallet has not been the same since!
