I had a profound and sincere resolution and I announced it here on head-fi, but I was dissuaded by the anbivalence of the ambivalent generation. Oh well.

I finally managed to take a decent shot of the tubes... usually my hands shake and bugger it up.

Telefunken smooth plate 12AX7 x1, 12AU7 x2 (have a stock from an old reel-reel deck)
Electro-Harmonix 7591 x4

The EHX tubes are terrible quality, I've had a couple short and start to glow red-hot. Thankfully they cause a loud hum when this happens so I've always caught it in time, but I'm wary of leaving my McIntosh alone now.

My new tubes, besides the tubes in the Stax amp, would be the EL84's in a Dyna Stereo 35, a matched set of Mulards, and two 6112's in a tube buffer.
