What specifications should I look for on a portable amp if I need to drive a set of Sennheiser HD600?

I see the term "hard to drive headphones" a lot. Specifically, what makes a set of headphones hard to drive?

Thanks!

I would guess(?) a Fiio E11 ($60) could drive the 300-Ohm HD-600s

Might try posting your HD-600 questions on this thread.
Or reading all 232 pages of the thread.

I wouldn't run a HD 600 with a FiiO level product.

Fiio E12 might do the job.

The O2 (Objective 2) can run off it's batteries and can (decently) drive my 600-ohm headphones.
So it should be good for 300-Ohm HD600s

I wish I knew more. I don’t have formal training in electricity, circuits, or electrical theory. I did find this, it sheds light on some specs: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/39968-6-help-understand-headphones-specs There are clues on this forum, but they are scattered.

The E12 will most definitely do the job, and quite well. The E12 is more powerful than the Objective 2. It's a step up in power over all other Fiio amps.

Specs for powering? Must say 300ohms the higher the mw it puts into 300ohms the better.  E12 will be enough but people say you need a woo audio wa22 to get rid of the veil.  E12 gives out 880mW  at 300ohms.  Woo audio wa22 gives out 1100mW at 300ohms. Hope this answers your question.

Where did you get this info and how much does the Objective 2 put out?

From there websites. Sennheiser hd 600 has 300ohms resistance.  It doesn't say of the O2 (on there website) how much mW  it puts out at 300ohms but it goes up to 600ohms so it can power up the hd600.
