I strongly agree with Hurt mentioned above a couple times and I really prefer the Cash version, the NiN version doesn't even compare.
Anthony and the Johnsons - Fistful of Love (I have strong feelings when it comes to abuse)
Coldplay - most of A Rush of Blood to the Head(Beautiful World to mention one)
Counting Crows - Round Here (reminds me of my first love for some reason)

While I have heard "The Living Years" hundreds of times on the radio before, it's really an excellent song about treasuring those who are with you now. Highly recommended!
