hello all,

I recently picked up Mad Dog headphones and an ibasso d6 amplifier. I want to delve a little bit deeper. Im wondering what software you all use or consider best for .flac playback as well as an equilizer?

Foobar2000.
Sounds good, clean interface, easy on CPU, great library and tagging management, supports all audio formats.
I even like the Spectrum display, it's very accurate (if you wish to educate yourself)

Most other members will confirm.

Enjoy
Adam

Would help if you explained your current listening set-up.  PC based / laptop / ???  Which OS? etc

Personally I use Foobar2000 (Win8 - but I also used it via wine when I was running Debian Linux as well).  As the others have stated - very configurable, heaps of plugins - including some quite good vst etc.  Can run dolby hph plugin for surround as well - which can be quite interesting to play with.  As far as equalisers go - quite  few choices (again plugins).

Takes some learning - but sky is the limit as far as configurations go.

I just posted a thread concerning a great graphic equalizer:

I downloaded the .dll file from the site in your link but im unsure how to use it within foobar. I see you say something about needing another application but I did a google search and didn't find a DL site for that. How do I add a plugin to foobar?

1. Move .dll into "Components" library under Foobar2000's installation library
2. Re-open Foobar2000, go to preferences -> DSP Manager
3. Choose "VST Bridge", then input the VST's location

You can also try George Yohng's VST Wrapper if the previous isn't stable:

under preference > DSP manager I don't see the equalizer under Available DSP's. In your other post you do mention needing some other dll file which in fact doesn't show up in my components folder but im unable to find a download for it anywhere

I also don't see the VST Bridge option anywhere

Follow the instructions by xnor, just replace "Electri-Q" with adamzuf's plugin.
