But cooler chips means you can run passive or run the fan slower ideal for HTPC or quiet computer. And if the computer isn't a gaming rig you don't need a faster CPU. I upgraded from 3700 to 4200x2 and under normal use I don't notice any speed difference, unless I encode music.

to me overclocking is great when you start increasing the FSB..>400MHz the system is far snappier, especially w/ a quad.
