However Foobar is the single fugliest program I have ever used with its default setup, you have to spend forever tweaking it to get it to resemble a half-way decent program. Winamp has a perfect GUI with its default setup.

Or you can just download someone else's premade setup.

Depends on how you define "proper" in this case. Besides, my setup includes the dll version of the ASIO plugin already.

Since it takes all of five minutes (or less) to do, why don't you go ahead and try it yourself?

J River Media Center, currently version 11.

Excellent piece of software. My favourite feature is that you can browse your entire collection by album cover art.... so easy to use and customise.

Just got foobar after reading this thread...

f2k sounds solid, I love its customization options too. winamp looks better but sounds a little worse.

Are there any premade skins for foobar2000 like winamp?

Another vote for Foobar2000, although it took many hours to make it work the way I want it too. There are really many things one has to set up before it looks like you want to and has all the convenient features programs like Windows Media Player or ITunes offer right from the start. But if you finally get everything working fine, there is no other player I know that looks as cool and sounds as good (sounds better than others ONLY because of the DSP options and ASIO, nothing else) as Foobar2000. I'm quite happy with my perfectly working and cool looking (inspired by necropimp, thanks guy!) set-up.
