What pair of headphones do you regret selling the most?

Grado RS1/RS2's. I loved them but decided to try other cans, now that I'm more into speakers I dont think I'll buy a pair of headphones at that price again

It's funny to me that I hear that same story from so many people; How someone "starts" with headphones and ends up "getting into speakers" later on.

My experience was quite the opposite.  Being a Home Theater fan and a bedroom beat-maker, I've always liked and owned nice speaker equipment.  But, there is something about the detail, separation and placement with headphones that is lost for me with speakers.  I do like the soundstage of speakers better, but I will admit that I enjoy the constant search for the holy grail of headphone equipment that will try and match that.

My RS1i's. One of my favorite "just relaxin" cans ive owned. So smooth, so Grado.

Mine too...I sold them to fund my HD800s.

About 3 months later I ended buying the RS1i from Moon Audio. Why...there's always room for a set of Grado's in ones collection.

K271 for me. I have two awesome and complementary mid-fi rigs with the HD600/Lambda Pros (which I funded through selling the AKGs), but there are some tracks that just sounded perfect on the K271 that I can't replicate on either.

I most regret GIVING AWAY my Yamaha YH-1 orthodynamics.  The fellow I gave them to modded them to jaw-dropping performance levels.  I could have done the mods myself, and had (finally!) a dynamic headphone worthy of my 'stat.  Ah, well...

My HE-5/ EF-5 combo. They were great, but i had a knee jerk reaction when all the stories came out about how fragile they were. I figured let me sell them before they depreciate too much. Silly me!

Senn HD650.  Still miss it time to time.

My Sennheiser HD-595s. Bought them around 4 or 5 years ago for what was, then, the amazing price of $179. Only had them for a while before deciding I didn't care enough to actually enjoy them, so I sold them on eBay for an appalling $100 thanks to the fact that I never put a reserve on the auction.

This is a great thread I found while looking for something else.
Let's get it back from the dead...

The headphones I regret selling the most are the Grados SR325e. They were very uncomfortable for more than an hour and excruciating while wearing glasses.
But I miss that sound. And I have too many headphones to buy another pair now. Although maybe I'll buy the new 325x and just change the pads.
