Im in the same situation as you are.

I bought the k81 with canare cable already so I am not sure if a recable is worth it to you or not.

My other suggestion is trying another DAP like Sony's NWZ-S616

So it might depend if you use equalizer or not.

but too bad Stereo don't sell beyerdynamic headphones, but i know hung bros do sell the dt770 too, but Jaben people seems friendlier though~
