What kind of PC mouse do you use?

Still chugging along with my logitech mouseman dual optical - I'd love one of the new models, but it seems none of them have that oh-so-just-perfect fit for my hand, *sigh*

Ditto!

My USBs are in the back of the laptop, so that's not too bad for a wired mouse - in fact, I prefer having a soft usb wire coming out of there to a hard usb dongle, so I just can't make up my mind

.

My current logitech makes a high-frequency buzz too, by the way.

Ahh ok, that makes more sense then. Yeah, i don't understand the point in bluetooth either if it comes bundled with a RF receiver, then one of the largest advantages is lost.
Have you investigated if bluetooth can be installed to your laptop ?

I know two persons with logitech optical notebook mouse plus (bundled with all Asus laptops). Well, the wire is thin, too thin - about 1mm. One of them rolled up the cable and it was stressed so it snapped inside the insulation. Don't know if all of logitech's notebook mice are like that, hopefully not.
Btw. the usb dongle on the V200 is extremely small, not much taller or wider than the actual connector, and the V200 uses the same "housing" as the V270.

Mine is the wired USB variety, with a PS/2 converter. The nicest part is that it was free, and free is a very good price

I use a laboratory mouse (I think it's the Swedish breed). My cat goes crazy, the ASPCA has contacted me, all this commotion -- but for some reason the computer itself is not responding. Anyone know what's going on?

P.S. also, how do you guys keep the mouse pad free of droppings? Not to mention stopping all that annoying squeaking. The cord is pretty short, too!

Yep, true on the battery life! Even better with good pads - I got a Func f.10s for 8 dollars on sale during Boxing Week. The leatherette version was what attracted me the most; it's very classy and businessy. Did you find the smooth wheel and the tilt odd for a few weeks until you got used to it?

Yea, I didn't think I could ever get used to the wheel.

You can usually pick 'em up pretty cheap on eBay, that's where I got mine. People often sell off non-pristine boards (which is fine, they're built like tanks so unless someone actually dropped it off a building it will probably work fine) for $10 or less, at which price shipping will probably be more than the keyboard...

Apart from the PCMCIA card, nope. This laptop's pretty much on its last legs anyway, so I'm reluctant to put my money even in the pcmcia card in case it would be obsolete with my next computer...

My mother has the v200, frankly the small dongle looks so fragile I like it even less than the big manly microsoft ones her other choices had

. Seems like a pretty nice mouse otherwise.

OTOH, if I buy a wired mouse just so that I don't need to buy the pcmcia card before my next computer purchase, I'd end up wasting more money, so I guess I'll have to keep the v270 still as my prime choice
