What kind of PC mouse do you use?

I've been using my trusty Logitech MouseMan Optical Dual Sensor for 3-4 years now and I'm still happy with it. Haven't attended a fragfest in over 2 years, so it's mostly for websurfing nowadays.

My mouse history goes something like this: Generic ball mouse - Logitech Mouseman - Logitech MX500 - Logitech MX310 - Logitech MX510.

Among these mice, MX500 showed the most astonishing performance improvement with Counter-strike and I used it for a long time. Mx500 and the Ratpadz was an awesome combination. The only problem with MX500 was its loud scroll wheel and buttons.

I like MX510, but I'm thinking of getting a G5.

MS Wireless Intellimouse Explorer.

Snagged it for $15 a few months ago. It's an sbsolute godsend.

Definitely the MS Intellimouse [link]

Nice size and arch on MS mice...lower profile ones don't feel comfortable at all for me. I've also yet to find another mouse with such intuitive and large left/right buttons.

Like PinkFloyd mentioned, she's extremely reliable, and mine has been chugging on for a good 4 years now. My first one broke after a year or two, and a friend of my sent it in to MS and got a free replacement without proof of purchase. Not bad, M$FT

I had a first generation Microsoft wireless intellimouse explorer thing.
Then, last summer I tried a Logitech MX1000. It fubarred after two days. Logitech said to send it back to Buy.com. Finally a few days ago I picked up a new mouse at CompUSA that I am liking very much. Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 6000. Now I need a mouse pad that works well with a laser mouse.

MX510, but I may get the 518. The 1600 dpi is definitely appealing.

As a hardcore FPS gamer, I use low sensitivity together with a nice 11"x15" mousepad, so the data transfer rate for the mouse is definitely the most important parameter, or has been until now. The 510 was the first mouse that I came across that wouldn't skip during long-distance flicks (when it takes you 6 inches to make a 180, you tend to notice skipping). However, the resolution of the 510 is really not that great. It doesn't matter for low sens, but it would matter for photoshop or for high sens gaming.

Wireless mice are useless for games because of bandwidth issues and time lag. The bandwidth is actually fine for some of the newer wireless mice and they won't skip too badly, but the response lag is definitely noticeable at higher skill levels. The cord bothers me, but I weigh it down with the keyboard, and it doesn't get in the way.
