Used market is great for high-end headphones.  People take care of their cans especially when they pay so much for it.  Got my LCD-2s used for $700

I would buy Stax 009 right now, if cheaper (like $1400)
 
The rest of those companies' flagships need tweaks
--Shure 1840 - I love these mids, but needs tighter bass, design could be better.
--Grado - beautiful headphones, but most have sound signature that is made purposefully irritating lol
--HiFiMan - havent heard HE-1000, but if it's a better HE6, then I'd buy it for $1000
--Audeze - house sound way too dim, heavy, and soundstage not great.
