I though it would be interesting if people posted their "normal" listening level and their headphones used - Ex. Westone UM2's 25% - 30% Ipod Classic for me. I'm primarily interested in results for IEM's - thought of making this a poll but I wanted to see the combination of phone and volume. I know this will vary to some degree by song/music type but would still like to hear from others.

i'm using some JVC clip ons [pretty good highs, NO BASS WHAT SO EVER, Although I kinda like it, Horrible Horrible clips... they hurt so badly

] with a Creative Zen Vision: M, Now I don't know how it compares to Ipod on the volume scale but I regularly use 15-17 out of 25...

Am I A Loud listener, guys? Oh, with an unmodded K81DJ I couldn't hear on lower than 19........

I think it depends on the music type, too. I know that classicals play back at lower levels generally.

i use mainly se530 and ue10pro and my ipod is mainly used between 70-90% of volume level. its a 80gb ipod 5.5g.

i think most top end iem's such as those ive mentioned only show thier true quality at higher levels, i usually find the se530 are not much better than se310 at average levels and the ue10 pro also isnt magnificent unless a bit more power is given

8% to 25% driving my KSC-55 or KSC-75

Hm I listen to my E3s just above 0 volume off my ipod nano 2G, and it's already pretty loud.

(These are 250 ohm so it really isn't all that loud.)

2% with Shure e4c's (At night before I go to sleep) 25-40% Normally



And jinx20001 if you continue to listen that loud you're not going to be able to notice the difference between iBuds and the e530's. If the DT880's are almost intolerable at 90% I can't imagine an IEM.

Ipod classic, with mp3gain set at 93db.
55% volume with audiotechnica ATH-CK7, but I think when I get my livewires it will become 45%.

UE Super.fi 3 with my 1G iPod Nano and volume about 2/5 to 1/2 (depending on background noise level).
