What is your favorite record from 1973?

there are some great albums from that year, and of course DSotMs influence is undeniable, but for me the most transformative and fabulous album (of that or most any year!) is (the vastly underrecognized band) Gentle Giant's In a Glass House. certainly king crimson's LTiA is an amazing album, and genesis' SEbtP is perhaps that wonderful band's finest effort. i'll toss another one into the ring that i don't think has yet been mentioned, the grateful dead's soulful Wake of the Flood.

I'd have added this one to the list.

Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells is also missing from the list. nevertheless I'd have voted for DSOTM.

Agh! DSotM and Quadrophenia in the same year?! Normally I'd say DSotM, but I've been listening to Quadrophenia almost non-stop since I got it a bit over a month ago. Both very awesome, definitive rock albums. Too bad I can't find anything today that comes near touching this stuff.
