What is your favorite live album?

I haven't tried the new zeppelin stuff (and that could steal the show) but at this point I would have to say roger waters "in the flesh" from his 99 tour would be my favorite cds as well as dvd, followed closely by the radiohead "I might be wrong" ep.

Camel - A Live Record: It's from the Rain Dances/Breathless era with Richard Sinclair on bass/some vocals. I love the version of "Never Let Go" with Sinclair doing vocals.

Camel - On The Road 1981: has an amazing recording of "Lunar Sea" and lots of material from Nude, which is one of my favorite Camel albums.

Les Claypool's Frog Brigade - Live Frogs Set 2: a complete cover of Pink Floyd's Animals.

Tabla Beat Science - Live In San Francisco At Stern Grove: I can't think of anything to say other than it's fantastic

I have this one on vinyl. Man the horns sound terrible, like kazu's
(spelling). I remember reading about Chicago's POV on this set years ago, they hated this album for it's sound.

Don't know... Eric Clapton, unplugged... perhaps. (I haven't got many live albums at all.)

Hey, I remember that article. I also recall listening to an interview with Terry Kath on the King Biscuit Flower Hour where he said the same thing. It is still one of my favorite live albums though, not for the quality of the recording, but for the content. And the fact that it is the only live album that I know of with Terry Kath. The guy was an incredible guitarist.

The Cure: "Trilogy" is amazing. Pornography, Disintegration, & Bloodflowers: three of my favourite albums played live in their entirety! It has some glitches during the performance (the bass sounds out of tune during 'a strange day', and robert starts ****ing up the mic during his wail during 'prayers for rain'.), but overall, definitely my favourite captured live performance. This is a dvd, but I think it counts, since if you want to listen to it without having to watch, you can always record it to minidisc or cd.

Skinny Puppy: "Back and Forth vol. 5: Doomsday" is also a favourite of mine, mainly because I actually got to see this show when it happened! Lots of good memories, and I can trick myself into thinking I can pick my voice out in the crowd of cheers. Fantastic live versions of some of my favourite songs, again.

Gridlock: "live.traces" is sweet and dark and soothing. Their albums are among my favourite in any electronic styling. This live album is better than all of them. Limited edition release, so you'd probably have to download it.
