My dream portable rig should be iPod Touch at least 32gb with modded portable Stax system build in the Touch. No AMP is needed for portable

Not sure what my dream portable is yet. I am thinking it is a Zune 120 (or new Zune when they come out) -> E+ (with OPA627) -> IE8, but it could very well be H120 -> D10 -> UM3X (or ES3X).

Maybe the Stax system is better.

I just don't know, I won't know until I hear it, and really hope some day in the not to distant future, I do hear it!

Meh no imagination here. For a dream rig I'd get a DAP custom made. Audiophile grade components. Dedicated high end DAC & headphone amplifier. 2TB HD. Nuclear reactor.

2TB HD? why not SSD? or over a DNA? and it would be nice if you could put the DAC and AMP in some very little shiny and sexy box as the IPOD 2G but smaller.
and some wireless custom IEMs which have only the canal part and isolate as much as you want.

this is a real dream portable rig!

2TB can be SSD. I didn't say magnetic hard drive Yup all in a single box, rather than two or three.

Ipods aren't sexy, I'd want it industrial looking, either aluminium, magnesium or cabron fiber case.

It would be nice if it would have some sensitive 3" touch screen with full HD resolution or higher and dynamic contrast of 1:100,000,000,000 and some more nice features while the back is in glossy black and the front screen is glossy too. and the depth is only 4-5mm and it will be extremly strong, like bullet proof.

Nope no touch screens, gimmicky and annoying to use. + like PS2 controlelr with button in the middle is the best.

Nah, I hate buttons, touch screen is the best way to control, very fast and smooth and you dont have buttons which can broke.

And if I have to choose something which exist I would say: iMod/Cowon D2 -> HeadAmp PICO -> Westone ES3X

And touch screens don't fbreak? Can you use a touch screen with the dap in your pocket, ie to skip track? Nope.

Also touchscreens are worse for power consumption.
