ok, looking for a portable set of cans (i have the 770's as my home cans, i know they could go through WWIII, but i just dont want to risk it)

MDR-V6 or K81 DJ's??

if i like the 770's, what would i be happier with?

BTW these are like 65-70 shipped on ebay, have a better place to buy em?

K81DJ most likely, though i havent heard V6 and there are so many conflicting reviews of that headphone that i dont have even slightest idea how it would sound.

But of course!
All for Headfi!

....or not...

It's actually a picture from a little stunt the local Beyer-distributor did a while ago. They had an old DT770 lying around, and wanted to show that it's sturdy.
So they drove a Toyota Rav4 over it. :)

It's so solid that they do this stunt as a demonstration for Beyer resellers in Norway when they visit them. Using the same DT770 every time!
They recorded it on video too.

Overdriven with too much power?

Wow... that's a heck of a picture. Gave me the shivers. Reminds me of the time I ran over my camera bag that a passenger at placed behind my car while unloading, and she forgot to move it before telling me it's clear.

Let's just say that it was a very tough video camera, and only suffered a small dent in the microphone mesh (it was a Sony DCR-PC1).

nother v6 vote, and yeah, i always thought those DTs looked stronger than mr.T but that vote confirms it!

the onl thing thats died on my V6s is teh jack...and then i fixed it....and then THAT jack died, and now its starting to get on my nerves cause im terrible at soldering and always burn myself numerous times whenever i get one of those jacks on. im starting to ask my self, is it worth bodily harm just to get the v6s up and running again?

...weelll the soldering iron is warm so ill have to leave it at that

I used to drop my dt770/80's on the floor like crazy, and then laugh like "lol, it's nothing." Now, no hairs, no nothing, I have this vibration sound that won't go away at louder volumes.

I think I'll take more care of my dt770/80's next time
