I though I was set had my Alessandro MS-Pros, listening to music couldn't get any better than this, or so I thought. Purchased the HD650's, fell in love with the sound, Made my MS-Pros collect dust for a few months.....but now I want more.

What is the next step up? Bit more clarity but same sounding?

LCD2 rev2, HE500?

Or just be happy with what I got?

Huh? Anyways I would definitely check out the Audeze LCD-2s and HE-500s as they are very popular and seem to me the next step from HD650 owners. I'm close to pulling the trigger on some LCD2s myself, just make sure you have enough juice to properly drive them. Good Luck!

Heya,

Be happy with what you have. They are extremely clear. Maybe you're wanting more treble?

Try to audition a Beyer DT880 or Hifiman HE-400 and see what you think.

Very best,

I was so so close to getting the dt 880 i auditioned these, the dt880 and the he400/500. The he500 were amazing but to similar to my ms pros, i really disliked the he 400.

I can get the dt880 pro for $199. But is there any difference between pro and 250ohm and 600ohm. I really loved thedt880 but the hd 650s won me over at the time

There is not a significant audible difference between the 250ohm & 600ohm DT880. The only difference is the impedance rating, which is used to match the load to an amplifier's ability to generate voltage and current and how they interact. They are so similar that it doesn't matter which one you choose. I would suggest the 250ohm to keep it as universally applicable as possible.

Very best,

I edited my post, sorry.

I meant Senn HD600. It has a similar signature to the HD650 but is more neutral (no veil and not as prominent bass as with HD650)

the HD600 isn't a step up though?

It could be if the OP is only looking for subtle changes in the sound signature. Of course, some other headphones like HE-500 would be even better choice.

My best 'phone is the HD600 so would love to know what others have upgraded to
