I plan to buy the E500PTh soon but I first tried out the E%c and the E500 and found that the E500's were more comfy and sounded better. The E5c's however are 70CAd more expensive though. I mostly listen to metal music on my MP3 player and so I would like to know if the which is better E500. I have seen many ppl praising the E500 but hardly the same number praising the E5c's Why is that ?

Thanx

Long story short, the E5c is an older SHURE model (well, older than the rather new E500 anyway). The E5c has two drivers per side, the E500 has three drivers per side. In my opinion, the E500 sounds far better. The E500 is currently my favorite universal-fit IEM (in-ear monitor).

NOTE: Soon, SHURE will be renaming the E500 to "SE530."

I don't praise the E500 when I'm listening to metal on the go, but I don't really have a good portable source.

Your Clix isn't good?

I don't know what the reason is. Metal just sounds muffled/garbled through the Clix. It's wonderful for any other kind of music style, and the E500s sound good while playing metal connected to a decent amp.

Not sure, Ive only listened to the E500's for a few minutes, not with a very diverse range of music, but to me they honestly sounded the same, except the E500 has 3 drivers instead of 2 and the E5c is capable of going a little louder. The only reason I chose the E5c is because of some negative feedback I was coming across on this forum concerning the E500.
