Any song by Madeleine Peyroux. I love the way she sings.

Yes indeed, I hope you have her "MO-FI" Vinyl copies, they're un-real!!!   I will add "Sweet Jayne" by Cowboy Junkies.....And I know it's old and played to death but "Yesterday" by (don't even need to fill the name of the artist in, Do I!!)

Now I got it, It is just the solution for my problem, Nice writing, Thanks for your effort!

When I saw the thread title the first song that popped into my head was Chris Isaak's Wicked Game. I'll let you Freudians decipher the significance of that association.

Wow this song takes me right back, brilliant track its got that mix of melancholy and upbeat at the same time. I remember it was plugged to death at the time in the UK an perhaps burnt out a bit too quick, I never hear of her any more which is a shame ...

Probably not what some people would call 'smooth', but my pick would have to go to a track by Puscifer. Well, a remix.

Puscifer - Indigo Children (JLE Dub Mix)

This song a ridiculously smooth bassline, and the vocal style...along with some muffled beats...It just makes for a stunning package...And my pick for 'smoothest' song.
