A basic rule to follow would be to stick with solid state for them. I've used Corda Prehead Mk II, and Corda HA-2 MkII with them for quite some time. Some replaced those amps with the more expensive Blue Circle SBH. Portably you might like RSA P51 (I use it with my Alum MacBook). While I have a K.I.C.A.S. Caliente for other headphones........a better choice, in this instance, would probably be the regular K.I.C.A.S.. You don't want a warm-sounding amp with either your dt770, or Darths.

Agree - the regular KICAS is a very good choice, as are any of the Meier amps.

Per Skylab's recomendation, I tried my Corda Aria with DT770 Pro (in the bedrom) and it is a great combo. Now every night I am waiting for my wife to fall asleep, so I can watch movies

I thought the Meier amps have a warmer sound than most SS amps and why they are recommended with DT990/880 headphones? I know I was recommended tube or Meir for use with my DT990pro headphones and ended up getting a LunchboxPro tube amp.

The current generation Meier amps are *slightly* warm of neutral, but only very slightly. They do make a good match for all Beyers.

For the 250 ohm or 600 ohm Beyers, tube amps are terrific. For the 80 ohm DT770Pro80, tube amps are more hit or miss - they can be wonderful, but some OTL tube amps don't do so well with the 80 ohm impedance.

Nah, we are as happy as ever. We've been together for 15 years and still have our twice a week "dates".

I liked them on my cheap pimeta... It´s very fast so I guess it make the bass about as tight as it gets for them

I own a pair of 250 ohm DT770 rewired for balanced operation.
I use this solid state driver.
It is a perfect match: superior detail, carved edges.
Price range should be $850, and the company can fully customize it to your needs.
I would definitely recommend it.
