Yeah; I like my MS-1s.

Don't know how they would complement the 770s, but they sure are good phones on their own merits!

.......then again; haven't heard ANY other good quality cans to compare them to.

MS1 or some other Grado-ish creature. Tighter, faster, more natural...and not to forget, quite portabel.

ok well im thinkin that i have three good options right now:

a) start off slow and just get the sr60 and see how i like the sound
b) get the ms-1 but it may be a little laid back
c) save up more and just get the sr225 and have rock bliss

I may be crazy... but I prefer the MS1 with modded HD414 pads over the SR225 and SR60. IMHO the MS1 is flatter and more accurate for a lot of rock music. It doesn't have quite the 400-900 recession as most Grados, yet its still forward and dynamic. IMHO it soudns REALLY good with bowls too.

I opted for a set of MS-1s as a follow up to my stock 770s, and although I like them, I don't find myself reaching for them that often... it's likely due to the fact that most of the music I listen to needs that signature 770 bass. (oh, that and the fact that my new

MS-1's are an outstanding set of cans. They would make a killer compliment to your DT-770's. As far as the differences between them and the Grado lineup, they exist, but in comparison to other headphone lines, they sound far more like a Grado than a Sennheiser or AKG or what have you. Unless your ears are already well developed, I'm willing to bet that you won't be able to tell the difference immediately between the MS-1 and the SR-225. Go with the MS-1. You and your wallet will be very happy.
