My girlfriend went to a mini-meet with me when we had only been going out a couple of weeks and was totally not put off by my gathering with a bunch of older men who sit in chairs and listen to strange-looking headphones.

In fact, she was quite enamored with the whole experience -- she laughed when she saw me with the K1000s so I would say those might work best for me once I get them.
