Hi,

I was wondering how exactly a pa2v2 behaves.  If it is placed between a pc out and a pair of head phones will it be able to completely mute the sound at one end of the dial, or does it only amplify the sound.  Also, could it be used as a passive volume control without power.

Thanks

Well I e-mailed Gary and this was his response.  Hope this helps anyone else who is interested.

Gary:
The PA2V2 is able to actually reduce and mute the incoming volume level from the computer. Interestingly, the amp would work as a passive volume control except that the knob will work backwards. So this means when you turn the amp's volume to minimum, the input will pass through. As the amp's volume knob is turned up, the input will get more quiet. The amp just happens to [unintentionally] behave this way due to the way it was designed.

Case closed.
