I have the Pearstone and I like it. Should last a long time.

For all those who think that genuine MDR-7506 earpads are, sound wise, the best for this headphone but are overpriced, you may try the genuine Audio-Technica ATH-M30/M35 (no ATH-M30X). To me they seem to be identical to the genuine Sony in shape, dimensions, softness of the foam and sound. I surmise this is the same exact item provided to Sony and Audio-Technica by the same supplier.

I have tried two Aliexpress postmarket Sony MDR-7506 earpads and the Beyerdynamic DT250 velour. To me all these change (not for the best, even if they are rather more comfortable) the sound signature of the headphone. The Audio-Technica have restored the genuine sound of my MDR-7506.

The good news? the Audio-Technica are four times less expensive than the Sony.
They are readily available directly from Audio-Technica, I purchased from one of the well known german internet retailers. Their reference is ATPT-M30PAD
