So I've got a AudioTrak ImAmp and according this review:

http://www.headfonia.com/audiotrak-imamp/2/

the "AD825 (single channel SOIC package, with an adaptor)" is said to have a larger sound stage, which I want, but I have no idea was any of it means other than the model number.

Is this what he's talking about:

???

Thanks for anyone that can help me pin-point exactly what it is that I need! :)

It just means it's a single op amp in a surface mount package that is soldered to an adapter so that it can be used in place of a through hole single op amp.

Not really.

The review refers to using AD825 (SOIC packing, each opamp only has one channel) in place of OP2134 (DIP package, each opamp has two channels). So it is not just one AD825 on an DIP adapter, but two AD825 on one DIP adapter (which in effect making it into a two channels version of AD825). If you plug an one-opamp version of AD825 with DIP adapter (= one channel only)  onto a opamp socket designed for dual channel, it will just burn the opamp out immediately if you are lucky, or damage the circuit if you are not.
