Over the past year or so while i have had my essence st i have tried various players like potplayer with reclock and foobar and recently tried AIMP3 in asio and it to me beats them all for sound quality and sound stage,i can honestly say i can hear things in certain tracks i can't hear in other players.

I remember using AIMP a while back and being impressed with it, but for some reason it fell off my radar. Downloaded the latest 3.20 version, listening to it now. Does indeed sound very good; highly detailed.

No real differences whatsoever, sound quality wise: foobar and VLC are highly configurable. I use VLC to keep only one player for everything, but not that useful to organize your music.
