What do you tell the wives??

I am honest with my wife to a fault.

Probably the only objection she had was when I bought my R10's. They are a tad more expensive than other headphones.

Of course, I told her I could sell the new big screen HDTV to make up for it, and she shot daggers with her eyes.

So, she has taken to dominating the home theater.

And I have my headphone rig.

Ed, that is so funny. I'm the one who insisted on the bigscreen, but my husband is the one who has the best time with it! Don't however, ask him about janet jackson. He was watching the half time show last year, and still can't understand what the fuss was about. He actually likes my headphones, because I use them and it doesn't compete with any of the games he's got going (usually a different one on every tv in the house). Of course, he is still waiting for the Yankees to broadcast in hd.

So, what's your strategy for getting the Qualia 010? Bet you can't stop thinking about getting them. Maybe tell the wife that you'll sell the family BMW in order to get a Qualia.

Heheh, well. I haven't heard one yet, so we'll see. But I'll listen to one this weekend.

And uh....working on the story. I think my wife's suspicious, she told my friend to make sure I don't buy something big there.

She know's I'm not a big gambler at all, but she knows my electronics weakness......

Reading this I think it is a bit different here. Basically I tell my wife what I want and why then she asks how much? I tell her the cost and listen for a while or longer depending on the damage why she thinks it is ill advised to purchase whatever want. After she has vented she almost always says "well fine go ahead". On rare occasions she has asked that I delay my purchases a bit but I cannot remember ever being told not to buy something I really wanted.

One good thing about this method is that there is never any deceit or worry about being caught.

I don't think that escaped the attention of a single, salivating soul who read those holiday threads dripping with high-caloric goodness. I still dream about your menus.

After you listen to the Qualia this weekend, I'd sure like to know what you think of it versus the R10. I've been hinting to my wife that an additional $2.6K expense may be in the offing, and as usual, she is supportive. I'm one lucky guy.
