I'll actually weigh in on this one.. I keep my IEMs in mint tins, believe it or not. My PL30s fit perfectly into one of those little eclipse mint tins (the smaller ones) and they're sturdy as anything. I can drop textbooks on them and leave them in my bag without fear they'll get damaged..

Not sure it's good for the cables, though.. My MDR-EX90LPs live in another mint tin cuz I'm not using them at the moment..

My se530 would be in their cases because they are easy to broke.( the body is toughly built but not the rest) But plug and unplug too often cause some problems too.
That is why um2 is great, with silicon eartips, I don't have to baby them at all, I store them just like the way you would store your stock ibuds.

I keep my um1s in the case that was provided when i bought the iem. Otherwise i keep it in plastic cases (ala tupperware/lock and lock) that was mentioned by ClieOS in another thread with pics. Hope this helps

As someone trained in handling professional audio stuffs, I have the habit of not folding any cables, IEM cable included. Folding bends causes stress in the electrical conductor. So I generally roll the IEM up, and put them is small bag compartments or a large enough soft cases. I don't have the habit of stomping my IEMs so I am not concerned on giving it a hard shell.

I just leave mine on my desk rolled lightly around my hand and then clipped in the middle with my shirt clip around all the wires.

When I'm on the go I just wear from my pocket and clip to my shirt, so I let the buds drape down under my jacket. If I roll up, same way as desk, then just put on the outside of my ipod. Probably not the best I guess...

Can anyone like to small IEM carrying bags/shells? Or want to sell me one?

Maybe an old tin of shoe polish would work too, like the Kiwi stuff? That seems like it would be a perfect size and it's metal. Only problem would be the old polish but you could sanitize and deep clean it out once it's done I would think.

aka I'm going to do this ASAP since I don't need the brown polish that came with my kit!
