What do I always need to have a Grado around?

(Title should have been "Why do I always need to have a Grado around?")

I just occurred to me I've bought my 3rd pair of 225's.

Seems every time I sell a pair of Grado phones I have the urge to own them again within a month or so. They have been bought, returned or sold for various reasons, but here's the history as I recall:

125
RS-1
MS-1
225
RS-2
RS-1
225
HF-1
RS-1
MS-Pro
225

Hopefully I won't do this again but I seem to always find myself scanning the ads for an RS-1 with a nice wood box. It must be a disease.
Anyone else have a headphone they just can't seem to get away from?

With a history of buying Grado headphones like you have, why fight it? The answer seems simple to me: You like the way Grados sound. Accept your desitny.

Oh yeah, and to answer the original question, yeah there are a few headphones I can't get away from:

Grado HF-1
Grado RS-1
AKG K1000

The reason I can't get away from them: Because they are my favorites among all of the other headphones I have owned thus far. At least I can accept that fact!

Hmm - only headphone I've sold that I've bought back is the Grado HP2. Selling that headphone was truly a mistake; one that I won't make again! I've considered selling my RS1 on no less than 10 different occasions since I bought them new last year. They're not my favorite for music, and I find myself often criticizing the sound/value/build quality. However, inexplicably, watching DVD videos with the RS1 is an amazing experience (all the better with the Melos Gold). If I ever gave into whim and sold them, I know I'd miss them for watching movies - and I might end up doing the buy-sell-buy-sell thing. So I'm trying my best to not give in to the temptation of a quick & easy $450-500

Looks like I'm doomed to always have at least 2 Grados around. Now my L3000 I'll also always have around, and I'd NEVER consider selling that. If you see me selling that, look for my obituary the next day

Sold an SR60 that I'd modded once, instantly regretted it, got another.

Sold a DT770 cause it was too warm in the summer, had to have another, missed it too much.

I've done a run up from the sr60 via 2 pairs of 225's and ended at 325i. It's just that they seem to get better as you go up and they seem to have such an affinity with vinyl.

The only reason I stopped at the 325i was money ... it starts getting serious after that!!
