The baby hauler and the personal driver...it's an all Audi family these days. Modifying and racing these things makes the headphone hobby seem like a bargain in comparison.

2018 Audi RS7 Performance
2017 Audi R8 V10 Plus

2009 Nissan 370Z 6 speed. People who don't know much about cars think this thing is worth waaaaaay more than it really is. It does look expensive I guess but literally anyone could own one of these.

2008 Honda CBR600RR.

Thanks! While I went with an '18 Performance, you can find an older Prestige model for not a lot of cash (relatively speaking). Enjoy some RS7 V8 bass and some V10 HD800 goodness lol. :L3000:

2007 Mercedes Benz C200 Kompressor. Almost 150k miles on it and its timing chain only failed once. Same with the electronic steering lock.

they're not cheap to maintain that's the only problem. an engine probably still cost the price of a Honda civic.

Don't remind me. Only issue with RS7 are the turbos with the oil filter clogging. There's revisions and I'd like to think mine being the last year before the 2020 refresh it's okay. Otherwise, there's plenty of people that just gut the filter as it's not necessary. I've almost never seen an engine go on the RS7 it's usually the turbos because of starvation due to the reasons I mentioned.

As for the R8, that's a car I keep under warranty and will extend the engine replacement or transmission is scary expensive lol.

I actually had the chance to track an R8 at Speed Vegas. Though it wasn't the V10.

With a Benz? You are so lucky! I've heard stories about German luxury branded cars when the cars goes downhill with the parts costs.

350Z seems to be a good value for low milage used sporty car.

I like Honda a lot. I always wanted an S2000 that revs like crazy.

Yep, it's had only one engine swap! Mercedes wanted "at least" $12k for a new engine, so instead I went with a third-party mechanic who sourced a wrecker engine for $5k and so far it's been fine since. The ESL was like $1k and I opted to go to Mercedes for that. Their service department is generally pretty hopeless though. Most recently I had the car booked in for the Takata airbag replacement. When I went to pick up the car, the receptionist adamantly denied serving me in the morning that same day, and the job which was quoted to be finished half an hour before closing time ended up finishing half an hour after.

This is my philosophy after years of car ownership.

1. Buy a commonly driven daily driver that is guaranteed that any mechanic would have experience in or easy to source parts. This will make everything really easy in terms of repairs, etc... You will save a lot of money on parts and repair costs since they are so common to repair.

2. Anything exhotic or sporty, do not use as daily driver, and only own it if you can store it safely like in a garage. Do not buy these cars for daily usage, but for recreational limited usage. Limited usage will lower the chances of something going wrong. If you park on the street outside, do not buy these cars because you will get it dinged or banged up.
