Just a quick question here can someone feedback on the NE5533 opamp chip and what are it's sound characteristics like. Also is this opamp suitable for a portable tube amp.

The 5532 is a dual-channel, low-noise opamp that has been used in professional audio equipment for years. It should perform well in your portable tube amp if used within its +/- 3 to +\- 20 volt range. It has a fairly low slew rate of 8, so it should be stable in most circuits. Given its low cost, it is an attractive choice for DIY'ers. The SQ will pretty much depend on other circuit characteristics as it could be called neutral in audio applications.
