My friend asked me which built-in DTS decoder he should use on his Harmon Kardon receiver on his 6.1 speaker system (for movies).

His receiver includes the following decoders:
DTS Neo:6
DTS decoder
Dolby Digital
Dolby 3 Stereo
DTS-ES Matrix 6.1
Dolby Pro Logic II
DTS-ES Discrete 6.1
Dolby Digital Surround EX

Thanks!

I would use any of the DTS modes if possible. DTS has a more spacious sound than Dolby Digital when I did A/B comparisons in my home theater system. Of course, the DVD has to have a DTS soundtrack as an option. Most DVDs in my experience only has Dolby Digital.
