What book are you reading right now?

I just finished Bill Bryson's "A walk in the woods", his account of walking the appalacian trail. This is a pretty great book, and one of Bryson's best. This inspired me to go on my walking holiday, which I had recently.

My current book is "Confessions of a Dangerous Mind", by Chuck Barris. Resisting the inspiration to become a spy/tv presenter.

Ghost Wars--The Secret History of the CIA, Afghanistan, and Bin Laden, From the Soviet Invasion to September 10, 2001 -- Steve Coll. Uber-detailed study of the covert wars fought in Afghanistan that he says led to 9/11. Just getting started but it is already interesting. The author won the Pulitzer Prize.

Now I'm reading Creativity, Inc.: Overcoming the Unseen Forces That Stand in the Way of True Inspiration by Ed Catmull. This is the story of Pixar, written by one of the founders of the giants of computer animation. The narrative of Catmull in some moments is similar to a critical writing and it's full of entrepreneurial and managerial wisdom. He argues that the leader's biggest mistake is to suppress the creativity of his employees.
Interesting...thank you. And, welcome to Head-Fi.

I recently finished a book called Mindwise. It was written by a behavioral science professor named Nicholas Epley. Truly fascinating.

Awesome read. If you enjoyed that, Kahnemans "Thinking fast and Slow" or Dobelli's "The Art of Thinking Clearly" ((Hint,, if you are on this site, Dobelli's work should be a mandatory read:)) may be up your alley
