The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

Set in Germany in the years 1939-1943, The Book Thief tells the story of Liesel, narrated by Death who has in his possession the book she wrote about these years.

I'm reading The Stand by Stephen King. A few years after it was published Mad Max II came out. They could've got the inspiration for the feral kid from this book

Thanks for the idea ... my favorite King book although it's been years since I read it.

Finished Brad Thor's series on Scot Harvath, quite good,
now on to Vince Flynn and his character Mitch Rapp.

Well, I already screwed that up by starting with the first published: "Transfer of Power." But, my list shows the first chronological is "American Assassin" ... ?

American Assassin shows the start of Mitch being the man we know in the earlier books................keep following the chronological order and you'll be pleased.

Term Limits is a book before the Mitch Rapp series. It can be read anytime but is my favorite of his books.

I need to start it back up, but two that I was reading for a while was The Divine Comedy and The Complete Fiction of H.P. Lovecraft. The Divine Comedy actually isn't as hard to read as I thought it would be, although the translator notes at the end of each canto helps a lot in that. The Complete Fiction is just how it sounds, all of the short stories that Lovecraft created in one book. As much as I love his work, I'll admit some of his stuff can be a bit slow and hard to stay invested in.

One or two are a bit sub par but many of his stories are amazing and very disturbing in their realism. He must have influenced a lot of writers and film makers.
